Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri claimed his party is eager to conduct business, accusing the BJP of arriving with a pre-planned strategy to disrupt the House. He characterized the opposition’s behavior as fundamentally contrary to the state’s interests, asserting that the government has repeatedly urged for productive dialogue.

Conversely, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur argued that the BJP is prepared to debate critical issues ranging from unemployment and law and order to healthcare. He claimed the government is actively evading scrutiny. Beyond the legislative deadlock, the BJP escalated tensions by filing a formal complaint with the Shimla police against Rajya Sabha MP Pawan Khera. Thakur alleged that Khera’s recent remarks regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah were indecent and an affront to a constitutional office, demanding legal action as the political friction in Shimla continues to intensify.
