Recalling Jaitley’s transition from a student activist with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad to a central figure in national economic reform, Gupta highlighted his role during the Emergency and his subsequent legislative impact. She described Delhi as his karmabhoomi, emphasizing that his commitment to organizational integrity and governance continues to resonate with party workers.
Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra and Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta also attended the ceremony. Malhotra lauded the late minister for maintaining cross-party relationships and rising above partisan friction, a sentiment echoed by Vijender Gupta, who noted that Jaitley’s visionary approach remains a touchstone for contemporary political leadership. Jaitley, a lawyer by profession, served as India’s Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs from 2014 until 2019, passing away at the age of 66 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
