French Scout Linked to Epstein Found Dead Outside Paris

Daniel Siad, a 69-year-old modelling scout currently under investigation for his alleged role in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking network, was found dead at his home near Paris this week. Prosecutors in Nanterre have opened an official inquiry to establish the cause of death, with an autopsy scheduled to follow.

Siad’s name surfaced repeatedly within more than 1,000 declassified documents related to the late financier’s activities. French authorities had been building a case against him, focusing on serious allegations including rape and the procurement of women. Despite the mounting legal pressure, Siad had not yet faced questioning by investigators, consistently maintaining his innocence and claiming he was eager to provide his own account of events. In a 2014 email to Epstein, he notoriously described his recruitment methods as a form of fishing, noting that he would sometimes catch someone quickly and other times find no fish at all. He later pivoted to a different defense, insisting that Epstein had merely exploited his trust.

His death mirrors the fate of other figures connected to the disgraced US billionaire. Jean-Luc Brunel, another French agent arrested in 2020 on similar charges of procuring women for Epstein, was found dead in his prison cell in 2022. Epstein himself died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial, closing the door on a comprehensive public accounting of the network’s operations. As the investigation into Siad continues, authorities remain focused on the circumstances surrounding his discovery on Monday evening.
