Jagat Singh Negi Accuses BJP of Financial Misconduct via Religious Issues

The Revenue and Horticulture Minister asserted that the opposition has siphoned off vast sums of public money under the guise of religious devotion. Negi characterized the BJP’s approach as a calculated attempt to divert public discourse away from the state's economic challenges. According to him, the current Congress administration has already begun targeting major offenders linked to these irregularities, though he provided no specific details on ongoing investigations.

Beyond fiscal claims, Negi accused the BJP of fostering deep-seated divisions across Himachal Pradesh. He alleged that the party’s rhetoric revolves around manipulating caste, regional, and religious identities to manufacture conflict. This critique reached a fever pitch during the final day of the Monsoon Session of the Legislative Assembly, where tensions between the ruling Congress and the opposition remained high over debates regarding water cess, development policies, and the implementation of election guarantees. Negi maintained that despite these political hurdles, the government continues to fulfill its campaign promises while steering the state toward growth.
