YSRCP Warns of Mass Protests Over Unpaid Employee Dues

Threats against union leaders have drawn sharp condemnation from the YSRCP Employees and Pensioners Wing, which is now demanding the state government settle Rs 40,000 crore in outstanding payments. Nalamaaru Chandrasekhar Reddy characterized the current Revenue Minister’s conduct as unprecedented in his four decades of service. He emphasized that government employees are not subordinates to be intimidated but the essential workforce driving administration. The union leader highlighted that the coalition government has failed to address critical financial commitments for 27 months, leaving GPF, APGLI, and retirement benefits in limbo.

Despite a meeting with the Group of Ministers on July 22, the government has yet to produce a concrete plan regarding the 12th Pay Revision Commission, Interim Relief, or five pending installments of Dearness Allowance. The union is now pushing for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme and the Employees Health Scheme. With tensions rising, the YSRCP has signaled that continued inaction will trigger widespread agitation across Andhra Pradesh.
