Swati Maliwal Accuses Kejriwal of Exporting Delhi Corruption to Punjab

BJP MP Swati Maliwal has accused AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal of running a long-term corruption scheme in Delhi, alleging that he is now replicating the same model in Punjab. Her remarks follow mounting scrutiny over irregularities in school construction and liquor distribution projects that have shadowed the party's tenure.

Maliwal claims Kejriwal maintained a strategic distance from ministerial responsibilities during his time as Delhi Chief Minister to insulate himself from accountability. By avoiding a formal portfolio, he allegedly deflected blame onto subordinates whenever corruption allegations surfaced. She specifically cited irregularities in the Delhi Jal Board’s tendering process for sewage treatment facilities, which significantly hampered efforts to restore the Yamuna River.

AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar dismissed the claims as a familiar pre-election tactic by the BJP. She argued that previous legal challenges against party leadership collapsed in court, labeling the latest accusations a desperate response to AAP's governance record. Meanwhile, an ongoing investigation by the Anti-Corruption Branch continues to examine allegations that specific technology providers were unfairly favored through restrictive tendering conditions.
