While Washington remains preoccupied with escalating tensions in the Middle East, Zelenskiy is pushing to keep the war in Ukraine at the forefront of the American agenda. The president is seeking a dignified resolution, emphasizing that his administration remains in active communication with key U.S. figures, including NATO ambassador Matthew Whitaker, to align defense and diplomatic strategies.
Beyond high-level talks, the immediate focus remains on hardware. Zelenskiy is pressing for the expedited delivery of U.S. Patriot missile systems, which he views as essential to neutralizing the persistent Russian aerial bombardment of Ukrainian urban centers. Although recent agreements have paved the way for expanded defense licensing, the Ukrainian leadership is demanding faster implementation to counter intensifying military pressure on the front lines.
