NEET Scandal Halts Parliament Proceedings

Chaos erupted on the opening day of the Monsoon Session as both houses of Parliament adjourned amid intense opposition demands for a debate on the NEET exam paper leak. Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge brought the floor to a standstill, challenging the government to address the fallout of the widespread testing irregularities.

Kharge pressed the Rajya Sabha on the plight of thousands of students whose futures remain in limbo, pointing to demonstrations at Jantar Mantar as evidence of growing public unrest. He specifically condemned reports of a lathi charge against protesters, accusing the administration of attempting to silence dissent through force. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar suspended proceedings until noon as the debate intensified.

The Lok Sabha mirrored this disruption, with members forcing an adjournment over the NEET scandal and allegations surrounding the Ram Mandir donation process. Despite the heated atmosphere inside the chambers, the Delhi Police issued a formal denial regarding the use of force at Jantar Mantar. Officials described the security response as professional and dismissed online reports of violence or arrests as inaccurate, urging the public to ignore rumors as the session continues.
