Ukraine Targets Russian Industrial Hubs in Overnight Drone Offensive

A surge in Ukrainian drone strikes across Russian territory has left at least one civilian dead and inflicted damage on critical industrial infrastructure. From the Saratov region to the oil refineries of Tatarstan, the overnight assault signals a sharpening focus on disrupting Moscow’s supply chains and domestic energy capacity.

Governor Roman Busargin confirmed the fatality in the Saratov region, where drones targeted industrial sites, leaving several others injured. Simultaneously, industrial facilities in Nizhnekamsk—a vital center for oil refining in Tatarstan—sustained damage, marking a significant breach of regional defenses. The strikes extended to the Sea of Azov, where two empty oil tankers were compromised in a region essential for Russian military logistics.

Russian officials claim their air defense systems neutralized 415 incoming drones throughout the escalation. This sustained exchange underscores the deepening intensity of the conflict, now entering its fifth year, as both sides prioritize the degradation of energy infrastructure and logistical networks over traditional frontline attrition.
