The company’s growth trajectory varied across its core divisions. Life and health reinsurance saw a significant 43 percent surge in profit to $1.5 billion, fueled by favorable mortality trends in the U.S. and portfolio profitability. Conversely, property and casualty reinsurance experienced a 6 percent dip in profit to $2.2 billion, a decline the firm links to intensifying competition within the global reinsurance sector.
Corporate Solutions maintained steady momentum, raising its profit by 3 percent to $714 million while improving its combined ratio to 86.4 percent. CEO Andreas Berger credited this performance to disciplined underwriting and ongoing efforts to strengthen the company’s portfolio resilience. To ensure long-term stability, the firm is targeting $500 million in cost reductions by 2028 while scaling investments in data and artificial intelligence. As part of this expansion, Lori Goltermann will join the leadership team in January 2027 as chief commercial officer to oversee global strategies for corporate and government clients. With a Swiss Solvency Test ratio of 259 percent, the group remains well-positioned to meet its full-year profit target of $4.5 billion.
