Helicopter Crash in Biscayne Bay Leaves One Dead

Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz confirmed that marine patrol units arrived to find a bystander attempting to assist one of the victims. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by Miami firefighters, the man succumbed to his injuries. Border protection officers located the two survivors in the water, who were subsequently transported to a local trauma center. They remain in critical but stable condition.

Footage of the submerged wreckage shows the aircraft upside down with its emergency floats deployed, though the equipment failed to keep the cabin upright. While heavy rain has persisted across South Florida throughout the week, authorities have not yet determined if weather conditions played a role in the accident. Investigators are currently working to notify the victims' families before releasing their identities, and the cause of the crash remains under active review.
