More than 2,000 delegates are expected to participate in the summit, which operates under the theme “For Peace, Security, and Development.” The agenda features approximately 40 panel sessions addressing the continent’s most pressing economic constraints, including infrastructure deficits, energy instability, and the need for diversified financing options. President Vladimir Putin will lead plenary sessions alongside the Chairperson of the African Union, Burundi’s President Évariste Ndayishimiye, to oversee the expected signing of a substantial package of intergovernmental agreements and commercial contracts.
Beyond high-level diplomatic talks, the summit emphasizes practical industrial and technological cooperation. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to host a working breakfast for his African counterparts, while other sessions will explore the integration of AI in state governance, biosecurity, and the expansion of the Russian Industrial Zone model already underway in Egypt. The program also reserves space for a Youth Day hosted by MGIMO University and a media forum dedicated to countering disinformation, reflecting an effort to align institutional development with public-facing cooperation.
