Erste Bank a.d. Novi Sad will manage the distribution of the funds, which include a €20 million loan alongside a €2 million EU grant. This represents the first operation under the EIB’s Innovation and Green Transformation Facility for the Western Balkans. The program focuses on helping companies transition toward resource-efficient operations, particularly in livestock and crop production, where climate resilience remains a priority.
Beyond direct lending, the package provides technical assistance to help firms bridge the gap between early-stage innovation and market-ready investment. According to Erste Bank CEO Jasna Terzić, this collaboration allows local businesses to accelerate their digital transformation and improve market standing. Julian Vassallo of the EU Delegation to Serbia noted that the initiative aligns private-sector development with the broader goal of industrial decarbonization. By connecting startups with financial support and expert guidance, the facility aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Serbian industry within the EU Single Market.
