Shukla said Diwali had been his favourite festival for as long as he could remember, recalling the wonder he felt at its lights, sparkle and fireworks. Watching the lightning flicker across the planet below, he said, brought that familiar sense of celebration into an unfamiliar setting.

In his post, he described the flashes as “a beautiful, unexpected reminder that the universe has its own way of celebrating light.” He added that encountering the scene felt particularly special and that he could not think of a more fitting day to share the video.

Shukla also wished friends and their families a happy Dhanteras. He hoped the festive season would bring light, happiness, good health and prosperity to their homes and hearts.
