Addressing reporters at the party headquarters, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh identified three central figures—Jagga Singh, Mohanjeet Singh, and Gulzar Singh—whom he contends are being used as pawns by the opposition. According to Singh, Jagga Singh, characterized by the BJP as a revolutionary, currently faces nine criminal cases, including charges of rape, kidnapping, and drug trafficking under the NDPS Act. Four of these cases have already resulted in convictions.
Singh further alleged that Mohanjeet Singh, who gained notoriety for waving a black flag at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is the subject of eight separate FIRs. Regarding the case of Gulzar Singh, the AAP leader claimed that opposition parties coerced the individual into recording videos implicating Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, despite his initial statements lacking any such mention.
Beyond these local allegations, Singh pivoted to national issues, citing the 20,000 crore drug seizure at Mundra Port in Gujarat. He pointed to NIA affidavits filed in the Supreme Court, which linked the incident to terrorist financing in Pakistan. Singh argued that the opposition’s attempts to frame Punjab as a drug hub are hypocritical given their own track record in states like Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, where mass fatalities from illicit liquor consumption have occurred without similar political scrutiny. He maintained that the Mann administration remains committed to dismantling the drug networks that flourished under previous regimes.
