Patrick Clancy described the agonizing aftermath of January 24, 2023, revealing that his youngest son, eight-month-old Callan, survived for four days before passing away in his arms. While holding the infant, Clancy spent his final moments with him drafting tributes to his other children, five-year-old Cora and two-year-old Dawson. He rejected the public labels applied to his ex-wife, calling them inaccurate and harmful to the memory of his family.

During the trial, jurors were presented with the harrowing 911 call Clancy made after discovering the children in the family’s basement. While 11 jurors were reportedly prepared to find Lindsay Clancy not criminally responsible due to postpartum psychosis, a single dissenting vote led to a mistrial on September 4.
