Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad Chairman Defects to TDP

Majji Srinivasa Rao, the influential chairman of the Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad, officially abandoned the YSR Congress Party on Tuesday. He formalized his move at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s camp office, signaling a strategic shift in regional power dynamics alongside his daughter, Siri Sahasra, who also joined the TDP.

Chief Minister Naidu welcomed the new recruits by draping them in the party’s signature yellow scarf, an act witnessed by a delegation of cabinet ministers and local party figures, including Anitha and Kondapalli Srinivas. This high-profile transition arrives as the TDP intensifies its pressure on the YSRCP.

Following the ceremony, TDP spokesperson Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy utilized the momentum to launch a sharp critique against the opposition. He accused the YSRCP of sabotaging the state’s Mega DSC teacher recruitment program, framing the defection as part of a broader failure within the former ruling party's administration.
