North Korea’s newly appointed defense minister, Kim Song-gi, has formally denounced the impending joint military exercises between South Korea, Japan, and the United States. Citing the maneuvers as a direct provocation, Pyongyang warned that it would initiate strong and reflective countermeasures should the allies trigger a new military confrontation.
