The Sunday strikes, which also left six others injured, highlight the fragility of the October 2025 agreement. While the pact was designed to suppress hostilities and facilitate Donald Trump’s broader peace strategy, the reality on the ground remains unchanged. Two additional fatalities, including another child, were confirmed by hospital sources following further assaults throughout the day.
Hamas officials have publicly blamed Israel for these ongoing violations, arguing that the military actions effectively dismantle any progress toward a lasting resolution. Since the inception of the ceasefire, the human toll has climbed significantly, with over 1,300 Palestinians—the vast majority being civilians—killed in the crossfire. The persistent nature of these strikes continues to complicate diplomatic efforts, leaving the viability of the current peace framework in serious doubt.
