In Patna, former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar marked the occasion with traditional rituals. Accompanied by senior leader Sanjay Jha, Kumar participated in an aarti and received a sacred Shatari, a silver crown representing the lotus feet of the deity.

Simultaneously, the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a significant cultural revival. For the first time in decades, a grand Janmashtami procession spanned seven kilometers, traveling from the Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tikker to the Shiv Mandir in Trehgam. The event drew enthusiastic participation from local Kashmiri Pandits, marking a return to long-standing religious traditions in the region.
