Dotasra specifically pointed to the government’s use of the pending Other Backwards Classes Commission report as a pretext for stalling the electoral calendar. During a press conference in Jaipur, he alleged that the reservation process for 10 municipal corporations was compromised, particularly regarding SC and ST quotas. The State Election Commission has scheduled polling for September 9 and 11, with results expected on September 14.
In a move to contrast its platform with the current administration, the Congress party announced it has allocated 48.15 percent of its tickets to OBC candidates, with 35.90 percent going to women. Beyond the ballot, Dotasra attacked the government’s fiscal and labor policies, promising to revise the Urban Development tax and lower land lease charges if Congress returns to power. He further dismissed the current sanitation worker recruitment drive as a performative measure, predicting the rules will prevent its completion, while simultaneously alleging widespread corruption within the state’s sanitation tender system.
