Anand Dubey demands government intervention in Nishu Azad case

Shiv Sena UBT leader Anand Dubey has called on the central government to address the grievances of protester Nishu Azad, framing the issue as a matter of national duty. His appeal follows a direct confrontation between the opposition and the administration over the alleged protection of a suspect in a physical assault case.

Dubey emphasized that Azad, the daughter of Sanjay Azad, deserves justice and that the ongoing dispute regarding the assault at Jantar Mantar should be settled through open dialogue. He aligned his position with Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who recently pledged his personal support to the protester. Gandhi has publicly criticized the Delhi Police for failing to arrest the accused despite video evidence surfacing over six weeks ago.

In a sharp critique of the Union Home Ministry, Gandhi accused the authorities of shielding a criminal who targeted a Dalit family. The opposition leader questioned why the suspect remains at large, directly challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to explain the lack of police action. Dubey reiterated these concerns, insisting that the administration must move past political posturing to ensure the safety and rights of citizens who speak out against institutional inaction.
