Raghav Chadha to Represent India at IPU Youth Summit in Samarkand

Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha will lead the Indian parliamentary delegation at the 12th Inter-Parliamentary Union Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians. The event, held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from September 4 to 6, gathers legislators from across the globe to address themes of human rights, climate resilience, and digital justice.

Chadha expressed his gratitude to the Vice President of India for the nomination, noting the importance of the IPU—the world's oldest body of national parliaments—in facilitating international dialogue. This year's summit focuses on reclaiming dignity and justice during turbulent times, with sessions dedicated to youth rights in conflict zones, online safety, and economic opportunities for the next generation.

Representing the world's largest democracy, Chadha aims to leverage India’s significant demographic advantage to contribute to these global debates. The visit also serves to build upon the recent bilateral engagements between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uzbekistan, strengthening ties through parliamentary diplomacy. Since 2018, the IPU has incentivized the inclusion of younger voices by granting additional speaking time and voting power to delegations that feature young members, a policy intended to ensure that youth perspectives remain central to international legislative discourse.
