Congress Demands Indore Stadium for Rahul Gandhi Student Rally

Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari has formally requested that the state government grant access to Indore’s Nehru Stadium for a September 12 event featuring Rahul Gandhi. The proposed gathering, titled "Chhatron Ki Goonj," aims to facilitate a public dialogue on national education policy and youth employment concerns.

Patwari reached out to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya via social media, framing the request as a matter of national importance rather than partisan politics. He explicitly distanced the event from traditional campaigning, characterizing it as a platform for students to voice grievances regarding examination integrity, paper leaks, and mounting education costs. By securing the stadium, the party hopes to continue a series of discussions already held in cities such as Pune, Kota, and Prayagraj.

In his appeal, Patwari urged the administration to bypass bureaucratic hurdles and prioritize the event, which highlights the challenges currently facing the Indian student body. The Congress leader stated that he wishes to avoid political friction over venue regulations, insisting instead that the government recognize the urgency of the issues the campaign addresses. Rahul Gandhi, currently serving as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, is expected to use the platform to engage directly with young people regarding their academic and professional future.
