Telangana Chief Minister Challenges KCR to Public Debate in Assembly

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has issued a formal ultimatum to opposition leader K Chandrashekhar Rao, demanding he appear in the Legislative Assembly to defend his decade-long tenure against the current government's first 1,000 days. The Chief Minister characterized the former leader’s absence from public life as a dereliction of duty, calling for widespread protests and a formal resignation.

Reddy highlighted that while his administration has focused on social infrastructure, including the construction of seven lakh 'Indiramma' houses and a new ₹2,000 crore Osmania Hospital, the opposition remains largely invisible. He pointed to financial discrepancies, alleging that the state spent ₹22 crore on security and facilities for Rao during his self-imposed seclusion. The Chief Minister further criticized the BRS leadership for prioritizing family political appointments over public welfare, contrasting this with his own administration’s recent policy shifts, such as the SC categorization resolution and the introduction of a dedicated policy for gig workers. Reddy urged voters to join demonstrations starting Tuesday, culminating in a major assembly at Indira Park on September 6, ahead of the legislative session scheduled to begin the following day.
