Sanjay Raut Targets Maharashtra Government Over Nashik Kumbh Preparations

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has leveled accusations of systemic graft against the Maharashtra government, claiming the administration has lost public trust ahead of the Sinhasth Mahakumbh in Nashik. Raut’s comments arrived after local residents reportedly boycotted a conference featuring Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to protest ongoing infrastructure delays.

Raut argued that the current government’s majority does not guarantee its survival, citing widespread discontent among both citizens and local religious leaders. He characterized the administration as ineffective, noting that the public has ceased to take the Chief Minister’s assurances seriously as corruption allegations mount regarding the event's preparatory works.

Fadnavis dismissed the claims as a calculated conspiracy by the opposition to tarnish the religious gathering’s reputation. He maintained that all project details are fully transparent and accessible in the public domain. While acknowledging that infrastructure upgrades have caused temporary inconveniences for Nashik residents, the Chief Minister pledged that these efforts would fundamentally transform the city upon completion. He confirmed that all necessary preparations remain on track for the formal flag-hoisting ceremony scheduled for October 31.
