HS Phoolka Attacks BJP MPs Over Condolence Visit to Sajjan Kumar

Former Delhi MLA HS Phoolka has publicly denounced three BJP parliamentarians for visiting the residence of the late Congress leader Sajjan Kumar to offer condolences. Phoolka, a long-time advocate for 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims, argued that such gestures of sympathy belong exclusively to the families affected by the violence.

The criticism targets Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, and Yogender Chandolia, who visited the home of the former Congress leader following his death at age 80 on August 20. Phoolka described the move as a betrayal of the party's previous support for the legal pursuit of justice against Kumar, who was serving a life sentence for his role in the 1984 riots. In a statement posted to social media, Phoolka urged a boycott of the three MPs, emphasizing that the trauma experienced by survivors and their families remains an open wound. He characterized Kumar as a mass murderer, asserting that any display of respect toward him undermines the quest for accountability that has spanned decades. The former MLA remains a central figure in the ongoing legal efforts to ensure perpetrators of the 1984 violence face the full consequences of their actions.
