YSRCP Targets Full Sweep in Upcoming Andhra Pradesh Local Elections

Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has mobilized the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party to contest every available seat in Andhra Pradesh's upcoming rural and urban local body polls. Following a high-level meeting in Tadepalli, the party leadership declared a singular, aggressive agenda focused on total electoral participation.

MP Y V Subba Reddy confirmed the directive, noting that coordinators and district presidents have been instructed to secure candidates for every MPTC, ZPTC, Zilla Parishad, and municipal position. The party frames this campaign as a crucial grassroots test, with MP Mithun Reddy emphasizing that cadres are being fully supported to challenge the current coalition government’s grip on local governance.

During the meeting, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy argued that widespread public dissatisfaction with the ruling coalition provides a path to victory, provided the administration ensures a transparent ballot. Party leader Audimulapu Suresh echoed these sentiments, accusing the government of failing to fulfill campaign promises over the last 26 months. The YSRCP leadership intends to leverage this perceived anti-incumbency sentiment, viewing these local contests as a vital proving ground for their broader political resurgence in the state.
