The confrontation intensified as participants pushed against restricted zones, prompting DSP Kamakhya Narayan Singh to declare that police would forcefully halt any further advancement toward the Governor's residence. While officials claimed to be engaged in a positive dialogue with student representatives, the demonstrators remain unmoved, citing a lack of government action after nine days of hunger strikes.
Congress leader Sushil Kumar, who joined the demonstration, characterized the movement as a broader rebellion against the state’s recruitment apparatus. Beyond the 70th BPSC, protesters are demanding a single-stage format for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0 and the immediate abolition of negative marking. Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav has since intervened, sending a formal letter to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. He urged the administration to end the perceived discrimination against Hindi-speaking candidates and launch an independent inquiry into the influence of recruitment mafias. The protesters are now calling for a direct meeting with the Chief Minister to address the growing backlog of pending exams, including those for the BSSC and Sub-Inspector roles.
