BJP MLA Accuses Revanth Reddy of Misleading Public Over Denied US Visit

Conflict escalated in Telangana as BJP MLA Alleti Maheshwar Reddy accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of insulting the state's four crore residents. The accusation follows the Chief Minister’s public outcry over the Union government’s refusal to grant clearance for his official visit to the United States.

BJP MLA Accuses Revanth Reddy of Misleading Public Over Denied US Visit

Maheshwar Reddy demanded full transparency regarding the trip, arguing that the Chief Minister failed to disclose his complete itinerary while using public funds for a tour he characterized as political. The BJP leader insisted that the denial of visa clearance was a direct consequence of the Chief Minister's own lack of disclosure, rather than a targeted effort by the Centre to suppress state development.

This clash follows Revanth Reddy’s own press conference, where he alleged that the Ministry of External Affairs blocked his travel due to political bias. The Chief Minister contrasted his situation with the approval granted to the Gujarat government for recent investment-focused trips, suggesting the Centre fears Telangana’s potential to outpace Gujarat in attracting capital. He maintained that the denied tour was intended to bolster the 'TelanganaRising 2047' initiative and warned that state MPs would challenge the decision in Parliament to protect the region's economic interests.
