Quito Prepares to Host GET Forum 2026 Innovation Summit

More than 800 participants and 100 international speakers will converge in Quito, Ecuador, from October 5–7 for the GET Forum 2026. The gathering, hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank Group, seeks to bridge the gap between Latin American entrepreneurial talent and the capital necessary to scale businesses into global competitors.

The event aims to tackle a persistent regional paradox: while entrepreneurial activity across Latin America and the Caribbean remains robust, many startups fail to bridge the divide between initial concept and sustainable growth. Organizers have identified three core pillars for the summit: expanding economic opportunity through advanced digital skills, scaling venture capital access, and refining government policies to foster more resilient investment ecosystems. Rather than treating artificial intelligence as a siloed subject, the program integrates digital transformation across all discussions, scrutinizing how emerging technologies reshape labor markets and workforce requirements.

Connecting Capital and Policy

High-profile participants, including LinkedIn’s Global Head of Labour and Economic Policy Casey Weston, Global Entrepreneurship Network Chairman Jeff Hoffman, and ministers from Ecuador and El Salvador, will lead sessions designed to synchronize the interests of founders, investors, and policymakers. Graham Macmillan, CEO of IDB Lab, emphasized that the strength of an ecosystem—ranging from reliable market intelligence to academic-industry partnerships—is often the decisive factor in whether local talent translates into broad economic progress. Beyond the three-day conference, the forum serves as a cornerstone of the broader GET Platform, a long-term initiative intended to solidify connections between regional startups and international networks. For host nation Ecuador, the summit represents a strategic push to position its private sector as a primary engine for long-term growth, showcasing the country’s entrepreneurial energy to an audience of global investors.
