The National Bureau of Statistics reported that the pressure is mounting most heavily on the youngest segment of the workforce. Simultaneously, those aged 25 to 29 faced a marginal increase in joblessness, moving to 7.2% from 7.1%. These figures highlight a persistent structural friction for new entrants into the workforce, even as the government attempts to stabilize broader economic indicators.
Conversely, the stability of the older demographic offers a stark contrast to the youth sector. Workers aged 30 to 59 saw a slight improvement in their prospects, with unemployment dipping to 3.9% from 4.0%. This divergence suggests that while the established workforce maintains a degree of resilience, the economic headwinds are disproportionately targeting the younger generation, complicating the long-term outlook for national employment growth.
