Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, alongside Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, oversaw the surrender ceremony and welcomed the cadres back to civilian life. During the event, the Chief Minister remarked that many individuals originally turned to insurgency due to extreme circumstantial pressures, framing this disarmament as a necessary response to the government's ongoing peace efforts.
To facilitate their transition, the state administration has initiated a rehabilitation package for the former fighters. Each participant is set to receive four fixed deposits alongside a monthly stipend of 6,000 rupees for the next three years. Officials emphasized that this financial support aims to secure the long-term reintegration of the former militants while reinforcing the government’s broader focus on maintaining rule of law and public safety across the state.
