Russian Firm Petitions Putin to Seize Nestle Assets

The Russian logistics company KS Logistika has petitioned President Vladimir Putin to place Nestle’s local subsidiaries under temporary state administration. This aggressive maneuver, detailed in the newspaper Kommersant, targets five distinct entities and threatens to force a complete change in ownership for one of the world's largest food manufacturers.

Russian Firm Petitions Putin to Seize Nestle Assets

Nestle maintains that it has received no formal communication from Russian authorities and continues to operate its facilities while adhering to local regulations. The company has not provided further comment on the potential seizure. Industry analysts value these Russian holdings—comprising production facilities, intellectual property, and accumulated profits—at between 160 billion and 175 billion roubles.

This development aligns with a recurring pattern of state intervention targeting foreign-owned enterprises following the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine. By seeking to externalize control over these assets, local firms are increasingly challenging the presence of Western corporations that have opted to remain in the Russian market despite ongoing geopolitical pressure.
