Moscow blacklists Yulia Navalnaya-led Human Rights Foundation

Russian prosecutors justified the move by citing the foundation’s "Tyranny Tracker" project, which explicitly labels the Russian government a fully authoritarian regime. Authorities further accused the organization of discrediting the armed forces and advocating for international sanctions. Under the "undesirable" classification, any Russian citizen who shares the group's content or maintains ties to the foundation risks criminal prosecution and potential imprisonment.

Javier El-Hage, the foundation’s chief legal and policy officer, dismissed the Kremlin’s accusations as a validation of their work. He stated that by threatening collaborators, the state only confirms the accuracy of their research into the current administration. This decision marks the latest escalation in a campaign that has targeted hundreds of entities since 2015, ranging from international rights groups like Amnesty International to academic institutions such as Yale and Stanford.
