Omar Abdullah backs RSS Chief’s stance on youth protests

Addressing reporters in Jammu during a road project foundation ceremony, Abdullah praised Bhagwat’s candid assessment of the current wave of youth-led demonstrations. By validating the distinction between state and government, the Chief Minister argued that public opposition serves as a vital corrective mechanism for democracy. He noted that when the youth raise their voices, they are frequently highlighting failures in systems—such as the education sector—that require urgent reform.

Bhagwat’s original remarks in Mumbai emphasized that while protests are a legitimate democratic tool, they should aim to build consensus rather than foster division. Aligning with this view, Abdullah urged officials, including Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, to engage directly with protesting students rather than pursuing punitive measures.
