Production figures underscore the country's trajectory, with output projected to climb from current levels near 900,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 1.3 million bpd by the end of 2027, ultimately reaching 1.7 million bpd by 2030. This expansion relies heavily on the Stabroek Block, where ExxonMobil leads the charge with massive capital commitments. The Uaru development, a $12.7 billion venture set to come online in 2026, serves as a cornerstone, utilizing a high-capacity floating production, storage, and offloading vessel to extract 250,000 bpd.
Investment momentum continues with the $12.7 billion Whiptail project, targeting first oil by late 2027 or early 2028. Beyond these, the 2029-slated Hammerhead project and the integrated Longtail development—designed to process 1.5 billion cubic feet of gas daily—signal a transition toward broader energy utility. At the upcoming Marriott Hotel summit, stakeholders will focus on the logistical and engineering requirements of these projects, offering a venue for firms to secure roles in subsea systems, marine logistics, and local content integration as Guyana cements its status as a top-tier global oil producer.
