Rao’s criticism follows remarks from RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, who recently suggested that while student protests are a valid democratic tool for consensus, they must aim for systemic correction rather than division. Bhagwat emphasized that the younger generation’s grievances regarding India’s education system are genuine and merit constructive dialogue.
Contrasting the RSS Chief’s measured approach with the opposition, the BJP leader accused the Congress party and the INDIA alliance of maintaining double standards. He cited a lack of support for student movements in Kerala as evidence of a pattern, characterizing the opposition’s current advocacy as an anti-youth strategy driven by political gain. According to Rao, Bhagwat’s message provides the necessary nationalist direction for students, urging them to prioritize the nation while exercising their right to peaceful demonstration.
