The journey begins in Uruguay, where the Pope will spend November 6–8 visiting Montevideo, Paysandú, and Florida. He will then transition to Argentina from November 8–11, with scheduled stops in Buenos Aires, Cordoba, and Lujan. The final and longest leg of the trip takes place in Peru from November 11–17. Having served as the bishop of Chiclayo from 2015 to 2023, Leo holds Peruvian citizenship and will return to his former diocese alongside visits to Lima, Cusco, and Pucallpa.

This mission marks the first papal visit to the region since 2018, when Pope Francis traveled to Chile and Peru. Notably, Francis never visited his native Argentina during his papacy, making Leo’s upcoming tour a high-profile diplomatic and pastoral milestone.
