The electoral setback in Bihar follows a wave of youth-led protests centered on unemployment and recurring exam paper leaks, issues that have strained the BJP's traditional strongholds. While Congress secured the Bankipur seat through Jan Suraaj Party president Prashant Kishore—who defeated Neeraj Kumar by 19,324 votes—the opposition also held its ground in Madhya Pradesh. In Datia, Congress successfully fended off a BJP challenge, winning by a margin of over 6,000 votes.

BJP chief Nitin Nabin acknowledged the need for internal review, stating the party would introspect on the performance in both Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Despite these losses, the party maintained a foothold in Gujarat. Satish Patel secured the Manjalpur seat in Vadodara by defeating Congress candidate Bhikhabhai Rabari by 30,630 votes. However, this victory reflects a significant erosion of political capital; the margin represents a sharp decline from the 100,754-vote landslide the BJP achieved in the 2022 assembly elections.
