The protest, which took place on July 31, featured opposition MPs staging a street-style play to challenge the central government. Dressed in saffron robes as a temple priest, Yadav carried a photo of Lord Ram and mimicked the collection of offerings. During the performance, he was seen pocketing donations, a move intended to symbolize corruption but which Maithil claims involved placing a holy image under the MP’s feet.
Maithil has demanded immediate legal action from the Home Ministry and Delhi Police against Yadav and supporting opposition figures, including Rahul Gandhi and Dimple Yadav. The demonstration saw slogans echoing through the complex, with opposition members demanding that Home Minister Amit Shah address police actions against protesting students and provide accountability for the alleged donation scandal. The complaint marks a significant escalation in the ongoing political friction between the ruling government and the INDIA bloc.
