Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that the first and second floors of the residential structure buckled under the impact, while secondary fires broke out in nearby warehouse facilities. Emergency responders worked through the morning to reach those buried in the wreckage, as five others were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
This assault highlights the widening gap in Ukraine’s defensive capabilities. While Moscow has intensified its long-range bombardment, Ukrainian forces struggle with a chronic shortage of interceptors capable of neutralizing ballistic missiles. These high-velocity weapons frequently strike before air raid sirens can provide adequate warning, leaving urban centers increasingly vulnerable to precision strikes.
