Ukrainian Drone Strike Hits Key Russian Grain Terminal at Taman

A strategic grain terminal at Russia’s Taman port on the Kerch Strait sustained significant damage following a targeted Ukrainian drone strike. The facility, which serves as a vital logistics node connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov, remains under scrutiny as regional shipping lanes face extended disruptions.

The terminal, operated by the major agricultural firm Demetra, holds an annual capacity of 5 million metric tons. While the company has declined to comment on the extent of the impact, industry sources confirm the strike has crippled operations at the site. The attack has effectively paralyzed maritime traffic in the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov, critical corridors that historically handle nearly 25 percent of Russia's total grain exports.

Shipping operations across the region have been suspended since July 10. The blockade creates a bottleneck for regional agricultural exports, forcing logistical shifts as authorities assess the damage to infrastructure near the strategic waterway.
