Scheduled for completion next year, the facility will feature over 50 turbines, each standing 130 meters tall with a 3.6 MW capacity. The site is expected to generate enough electricity to power nearly 200,000 households. This investment represents TAURON’s largest onshore renewable project to date, serving as a pillar of the company’s strategy to reach climate neutrality by 2040.
EIB Vice-President Marko Primorac emphasized that the project addresses both energy security and industrial competitiveness. TAURON Vice President Krzysztof Surma noted that the financing, which carries an 18-year repayment term, signals strong international confidence in the firm’s long-term vision. This agreement marks the ninth collaboration between the two organizations, following a significant PLN 2.8 billion deal signed in 2021. As the EIB continues to prioritize sustainable development, the bank currently supports one in every three onshore wind projects across the European Union.
