Addis Ababa to Host Major African Art Showcase

The exhibition serves as the aesthetic anchor for the summit, which draws over 700 delegates, including diplomats, innovators, and government leaders, under the theme “A New World: Africa in Shaping a Shared Future.” Featured creators include Nigeria’s Precious Longret Samuel, Ethiopia’s Selamawit Gebretsadik, and Senegal’s Khalifa Mané, each contributing works that interrogate collective memory and natural symbolism. By rejecting a singular narrative of the continent, the collection highlights the distinct cultural intersections that define modern African identity.

Beyond the gallery walls, the summit addresses structural development through initiatives like the interdisciplinary study, “The Zambezi River: Economy, Society, Soul,” which tracks the socioeconomic impact of the river across six nations. Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary-General of the World Peoples Assembly, described the art as a vital instrument for public diplomacy, noting that the choice of Addis Ababa underscores the region's rising role in global governance. Following the summit, the "Unity" collection is slated to travel to Moscow, continuing a broader push to solidify international cultural partnerships.
