US Firms Signal Renewed Confidence in Transatlantic Trade

Over half of American companies operating in Europe anticipate stable trade and investment conditions through 2025, according to a survey by the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union. This shift reflects a cooling of tensions that previously dominated the transatlantic economic landscape for several years.

The survey indicates that 51% of firms now expect a period of consistency, a marked departure from the volatility that defined recent cycles. AmCham EU CEO Malte Lohan attributes this improved outlook to the bilateral trade agreement signed a year ago, which has successfully mitigated the escalation risks many executives once feared.

This sentiment arrives alongside the expiration of a 10% global tariff, a development that has prompted a guarded, measured response from the European Commission regarding new U.S. tariff policies. For industry leaders, the current stability represents a significant turnaround, suggesting that the core objectives of the trade pact are finally aligning with corporate expectations on both sides of the Atlantic.
