Aviation and cruise stocks led the premarket rebound, with Delta Air Lines and American Airlines climbing 2.6% and 3% respectively. Royal Caribbean and Carnival mirrored this momentum, each gaining 3.2%. This appetite for risk stems from the stabilization of Middle Eastern hostilities, which had previously fueled investor anxiety over long-term inflationary pressures.
Energy markets reacted sharply to the de-escalation, as Brent Crude plummeted 6.3% to $90.6 a barrel. This reversal put downward pressure on major producers, including Occidental Petroleum and Exxon Mobil. Despite the reprieve, market participants remain cautious. Activity in the Strait of Hormuz stays suppressed, and unresolved threats from Yemen’s Houthi rebels against Saudi infrastructure continue to shadow the broader energy outlook as traders look toward the Federal Reserve's next move.
