Priyanka Gandhi Targets Modi Over Youth Disillusionment

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra confronted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, accusing him of selectively claiming credit for national triumphs while remaining indifferent to the mounting anxieties of India's younger generation. She argued that the administration’s disconnect is fueling a deepening crisis of confidence among students across the country.

The Congress MP dismissed the Prime Minister’s tendency to celebrate milestones like the Mars mission as a hollow performance, noting that such achievements belong to the youth rather than the executive. She demanded that the government pivot from self-congratulation to accountability, specifically addressing the widespread frustration regarding employment and future stability.

Beyond rhetoric, Gandhi called for an immediate shift in policy toward the ongoing student demonstrations. She pressed the government to initiate a direct dialogue with protesters who are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Furthermore, she insisted on an independent investigation into reports of police violence against demonstrators, characterizing these actions as a critical barrier to restoring faith in the nation's educational and political institutions.
