Congress Demands Resignation of Education Minister Over NEET Scandal

A parliamentary session descended into chaos on Thursday as Congress MP Rajeev Shukla demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The confrontation centers on allegations of widespread irregularities in recent national examinations, fueling a deepening divide between the Opposition and the ruling BJP government.

Shukla characterized the government’s refusal to address the exam scandal as a calculated attempt to avoid accountability. He argued that meaningful parliamentary dialogue is impossible while Pradhan remains in office, citing growing public unrest and mounting pressure from prominent figures calling for the minister's removal. Congress MP KC Venugopal reinforced this stance, claiming the Opposition stands united in defense of students whose futures have been jeopardized by the alleged system failures.

In response, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju accused the Opposition of obstructionism. Rijiju stated that the government was prepared for a structured debate regarding the NEET paper leak, but alleged that Congress leaders intentionally derailed proceedings to prevent a factual discussion. This deadlock leaves the legislative agenda stalled as both sides trade accusations over the integrity of the national testing process.
