BJP Targets Rahul Gandhi Over Student Protest Rhetoric

The political friction surrounding examination integrity deepened in Hyderabad as BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan accused Rahul Gandhi of exploiting student unrest for personal gain. Kesavan dismissed the opposition leader’s recent criticisms as performative, pointing to a history of silence on similar issues during previous Congress-led administrations.

Kesavan argued that Gandhi’s current focus on NEET paper leaks lacks credibility, citing a lack of intervention during the UPA era and in states currently under Congress governance. By framing Gandhi’s advocacy as dishonest, the BJP spokesperson positioned his party as the only actor genuinely prepared for substantive policy dialogue on educational reform.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, meanwhile, sought to shift the narrative toward administrative action. Responding to the mounting pressure from activists, the government committed to establishing fast-track courts specifically tasked with prosecuting examination-related irregularities. This measure aims to address the widespread frustration over systemic vulnerabilities that compromise the academic futures of students across the country.
